World Cultures and US History Teacher
Allen, Texas
I arrived in education later in life and that has served me well. Before becoming a teacher, I spent five years of my life abroad. Three of those years were in Singapore, the melting pot of Asia. Living among and working with people of so many various cultures really opened my eyes to the world and I think everyone should have that opportunity. I started out my educational career as an English teacher and soon had the opportunity to teach Integrated Studies where the curriculum we created pulled literature and writing prompts from the history we were studying. Over the past six years, I have focused my efforts in Social Studies with the hope of helping mold strong global citizens.
