LGBTQ+ and Gifted: Information and Advocacy

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Understanding the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals who are neurodiverse is so important to creating environments that best support this community.  A person’s identity significantly impacts how their giftedness manifests and, therefore, how to understand and connect with them. This intersectionality is vital to effectively meeting their needs and needs to be communicated effectively to all systems that they engage in, whether it is school, home, work, activities, or social life.  This discussion will focus on education and then how to effectively advocate with language and connecting to outside resources and support groups.
